NEET Preparation Strategy 2027 — Complete Study Plan & Tips
A proven step-by-step strategy — subject priorities, daily routine, mock schedule, and topper habits for NEET 2027.
The Golden Rule: NCERT First, Always
One non-negotiable rule: NCERT is your primary textbook for all three subjects. Biology NCERT is almost verbatim in NEET. Physics NCERT explains concepts behind numerical questions. Chemistry NCERT (especially Inorganic) is directly quoted. Students who score 600+ read NCERT Biology at least 4–5 times before NEET.
Phase-Wise 12-Month Strategy
Phase 1: Foundation (Months 1–4)
- Cover NCERT Class 11 — Biology first, then Chemistry, then Physics
- 10–15 MCQs per chapter immediately after reading
- One sectional mock per month
- Start NEET Gurukul Daily MCQ Practice from day 1
- Do NOT start full-length mocks yet
Phase 2: Advancement (Months 5–8)
- Cover NCERT Class 12 — Biology first (Genetics + Reproduction + Biotechnology = 30%+ of Biology marks)
- Integrate PYQ practice — chapter-wise (2013–2025)
- Full-length mock tests: 1 per fortnight
- Start error log — every wrong question, every missed concept
Phase 3: Revision (Months 9–11)
- 3-round revision: Detailed → Rapid → Flashcards/Mnemonics
- Weekly full-length mocks from month 10
- NCERT Biology line-by-line: MBI, Human Physiology, Genetics
- Chemistry: All organic reactions — write from memory
Phase 4: Final Sprint (Month 12)
- Daily full mocks + 2-hour review sessions
- Focus ONLY on weak areas in error log
- Stop learning new topics — consolidate what you know
- Sleep 7–8 hours — memory consolidation is critical
- Exam day order: Biology first (fastest marks), then Chemistry, then Physics
Subject-Specific Tips
Biology (50% — master it)
- Read NCERT Biology at least 4 times before NEET
- Draw diagrams from memory: Cell cycle, Meiosis, Heart, Nephron, DNA structure
- Molecular Basis of Inheritance: Know every enzyme, every step of Replication → Transcription → Translation
- Human Physiology: Remember key numbers — 7.4 blood pH, ~120 mmHg systolic BP, 3.8–5.8L lung capacity
Chemistry (make it your score-booster)
- Write all Organic reactions daily from memory
- Coordination Compounds: NCERT + PYQs = 90% of what you need for 9% weightage
- Thermodynamics and Equilibrium: Know every formula and its conditions
Physics (25% — don't neglect it)
- NCERT + Exemplar + PYQ. No other book needed.
- Modern Physics: 5–6 questions every year. High ROI if mastered.
- Current Electricity: 3–4 questions consistently. Kirchhoff's laws + Wheatstone bridge.
